Even though I didn't realize it at the time, my journey with photography started back in 1977. Our family was visiting my grandparents in California and I begged my dad to take a picture of my uncle's van. When he got the slides back (yes, i said slides) back I was surprised to see how well the image turned out.
Fast forward to college. My original major was computer science. I realized as much as I loved technology, I didn't want to program computers the rest of my life. So a change was in order. The Communications department offered photography courses and the rest is history. As a side note, the programming I learned in high school and college has been a blessing.
Throughout the journey, I've had the opportunity to study with some of the best photographers in the United States and Canada. The biggest highlight was working at good friend's studio. The experience was invaluable.
I photograph the seniors, sports teams, band, choir, and clubs for my hometown school district. In addition I photograph seniors and the band from a neighboring school district as well as photographing bands from several other area high schools.
My wife and I have three wonderful multi talented girls. Our oldest is a gifted musician and just marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City with the Macy's All American Marching Band. Our middle is an awesome musician and volleyball player. Our youngest is an incredible singer and is learning to play the sax.
